We were hunting on the next to the last
day of the next to the last week of
the season. Kevin had gotten his tom
the morning before. We were on the way
to where we were going to set up when
we heard toms gobbling all over the
area. We dropped below the edge of the
hill and went way down and around
the end of the field and came up a wash
out to get just below the dam.
Kevin went to the woods edge, and I
crawled to a log pile by the pond. Kevin
started to call about 20 yards behind
me. I peeked over the logs and there
were some jakes with a big tom right
behind them heading for my decoy. The
picture tells the rest of the story.
