My Dad and I built an awesome carpeted and heated Turkey Blind. We spent every available weekend building our blind on the edge of a field near the banks of Bear Creek, which is my Grandpa and Grandma's farm near Osceola, Missouri. We had seen Turkeys there sometimes by the dozens and almost every time we went to my Grand Parents house.

As soon as daylight broke we were startled by gobbling everywhere all around us with a couple seeming very close. But a distress call from a hen across the field and out of sight brought that to an end. We figured they must have seen another hunter on my Great Aunts land in the next field over across the creek.

After about an hour all we saw was a lone hen earlier that walked right by us and went on about her way. We were about to leave the creature comforts of our blind and head out on our own for open hunting when seven birds (4 jakes and 3 hens) broke out in the other end of the field and came running across the field to our decoy.

I pretty much had my choice of birds. I took aim and shot it with my new 20 gauge that my Grandma bought me.
