Tale
of the Hunt
I found this bird the
previous morning but was unable to call
him in close enough because he just
didn't want to leave his ladies. I just
sat and watched him strut back and forth
gobbling at my calls.
I went back to ring in
the first day of spring and he was back
in the same tree he was in the day before.
He was with his hens once again but
I managed to slip in and set up in between
him and his strut zone about 70 yards
from his roost. Just like clock work
he hit the ground and headed straight
toward me. What a way to begin the spring!
